Time and Image Management Workshop

This session delivers two essential skill sets. In the morning, an interactive approach to resolving common Time Management Issues. Using the "Cool Time" techniques of project management, influence and implementation, you will be able to develop the skills to manage your workload, including prioritization, e-mails and unexpected crises and you will also be able to return to your workplace and sell these concepts to your manager and colleagues. A copy of Steve's book, Cool Time: A Hands-On Plan for Balancing Work and Managing Time is included.

In the afternoon, Shannon Smith, Canada’s leading image strategist and author of Power Manners, delivers a powerful workshop to hell you build an effective personal brand. A large part of selling a product, service or company is selling ourselves. You will learn about:

  • The nuances of positioning & power
  • The importance of executive grooming
  • Physical presence & poise
  • Appropriate dress for every occasion
  • Business casual attire
  • How to create a unique personal brand
  • Perception vs. reality

Times:

Workshops start sharply at 9:30 and run to 3:30 with a one-hour break for lunch, and morning and afternoon breaks at appropriate times. You may purchase your lunch from a wide variety of offerings in the WaterPark Place Concourse.

Steve Prentice

BIOGRAPHY

Steve Prentice has been conducting workshops and seminars for over a decade, and has made the process by which adults function in the world of work his area of study. In 1989 he graduated from Montreal's Concordia University with a degree in Communications Studies, and was also Valedictorian for that year. He was also nominated in 1990 as the Rhodes Scholar Candidate at York University, while studying law there. In 1991 Steve withdrew from the study of law to focus on the psychology of adult learning. He incorporated Bristall Morgan in 1994, and has enjoyed great success as a speaker, facilitator and consultant across North America. In 2004, Steve returned to York University and is now working toward a Masters Degree in Psychology.

Steve's expertise is in Time Management and Work-Life Balance. His ten-year study on the impact of technology and stress on the working person resulted in a book, entitled Cool Time: A Hands-On Plan for Managing Work and Balancing Time, published by John Wiley and Sons.

His follow-up book, Cool Down: Getting Further by Going Slower, will be released by John Wiley and Sons in September, 2006.

Steve has delivered workshops, retreats, "lunch 'n' learns" and keynote addresses to hundreds of well-known organizations across the U.S. and Canada, and is also in high demand as a personal coach and mentor. He has appeared on television, on radio and in teleseminars and newspapers around the world, and writes regularly for trade magazines.

He is a member of the National Speakers Association (NSA) and the Canadian Society for Training & Development (CSTD).
